Business hardware · Selection · Procurement · Setup

Choose the equipment. Plan the whole setup.

A new laptop is only useful when it works with your applications, accessories and accounts. IPCONNEX helps Montreal businesses select and deploy computers, servers, storage and network equipment around the work they need to do.

One device or a planned refresh. Specifications, availability, configuration and support are confirmed in your proposal.

Before choosing a model

A useful equipment brief.

Work

Applications, file sizes and where the person works.

Connections

Displays, docks, peripherals and network access.

Setup

Accounts, licences, security settings and file transfer.

Support

Warranty terms, repair arrangements and ongoing assistance.
Illustrative buying brief — not a product specification or a client quotation.Use these questions to compare the complete setup, not just the device. Final models and service terms depend on the agreed requirements.

Equipment we can help source

Fit the equipment to the job.

Start with the applications and the working environment. Compare suitable configurations, then define the setup and handover work that comes with them.

Business laptops

Compare portability, displays, application requirements and compatible accessories. Plan account setup and device management where your environment and licences support them.

Example needEquip a hybrid employee with a laptop and compatible dock, then check their office displays and key applications.

Desktops & workstations

Select compact desktops or higher-capacity workstations according to the software and workload. Include displays, ports and peripherals in the comparison.

Example needReplace an office workstation while retaining suitable monitors and checking the connections needed for existing equipment.

Servers & storage

Assess capacity, application dependencies and installation needs before choosing a server or shared storage. Define migration, backup and recovery work separately.

Example needPlan a file-server replacement around usable capacity, permissions, data transfer and checks before the old system is retired.

Network equipment

Select switches, firewalls and wireless access points for your premises and users. Check compatibility, required subscriptions and the configuration work needed.

Example needAdd wireless coverage for a new workspace after checking cabling, power requirements and how the access points will be managed.

From selection to handover

Confirm what is needed. Check what is delivered.

A hardware proposal should make the equipment and the associated work easy to distinguish. Plan the transition before replacing a working device.

  1. Define the requirements

Review users, applications, existing equipment and your target date. Identify accessories to retain and any compatibility or installation constraints.

  2. Confirm the proposal

Agree on models, quantities, availability, warranty terms and costs. List licences, configuration, delivery, installation and data transfer explicitly where required.

  3. Prepare & hand over

Carry out the agreed configuration and deployment. Check essential applications and connections, document the equipment and confirm where users turn for support.

Before you order

Look beyond the device.

Which brands and models can you source?

We can discuss business equipment from brands already in our offering, including HP, Dell, Lenovo, Cisco and Fortinet. The suitable model depends on your requirements and supplier availability. We confirm the exact configuration, sourcing and delivery terms in the proposal; availability is checked for your order.

Can equipment be configured before delivery?

Yes, when included in the agreed work. Specify the operating system, applications, accounts, security settings and device-management requirements. Some steps depend on licences, authorized access or your on-site network. We confirm what is prepared in advance and what still needs to happen during deployment.

Can we keep existing equipment or an on-site server?

Where it still fits the work. We review condition, capacity, compatibility and support status before recommending replacement. Whether a server stays on-site depends on the applications, connectivity and data-handling needs, not simply the number of employees.

What warranty and support come with the equipment?

Confirm warranty coverage, duration, exclusions and the repair or replacement process for each quoted item. Manufacturer warranty service and IPCONNEX configuration or ongoing support are separate. Any on-site response, loan equipment or extended coverage must be explicitly agreed rather than assumed.

What should we plan before retiring old devices?

Identify data to retain and verify the transfer before releasing equipment. Use a sanitization or destruction method appropriate to the storage media and data sensitivity; deleting files alone is not enough. Agree who performs the work and what records are provided. Any retirement assistance and third-party services need an explicit scope.

What do you need to prepare a hardware proposal?

Share the number of devices, who will use them, key applications, existing accessories and the date you are aiming for. Mention whether you need configuration, installation, data transfer or ongoing support. We confirm equipment and service costs in the proposal. Do not send passwords, recovery codes or confidential files through the enquiry form.

The next step

A new employee, a replacement or a wider refresh?

Tell us what the equipment needs to do and what you already have. We can help turn those requirements into a defined hardware and deployment proposal.
